Hi, my name is Morella. I am a Venezuelan-American retiree living in the USA for 27 years. I am one of 8 girls, a mother of three boys and the grandma of 6

I worked for 40 years in Corporate America in the area of Human Resources. I retired 9 years ago to volunteer in several local organizations, until one day I traveled to Africa and my life totally changed. I couldn’t forget what I saw there with 2.5 million children in Uganda, who have lost one or both parents; many of them abused, abandoned or neglected. Poverty at the level I haven’t seen before and yet beautiful human beings desperate for help.

I decided to open a Transition Home for children under 6 years old in Jinja-Uganda. We offer a safe and loving home, health care, proper nutrition and early childhood development to ensure a strong development.

There are different ways to support our organization:

-Volunteering locally where you live as part of the fundraising effort

-Volunteering in Uganda

-Event organization team member

-Selling the art craft I bring from Uganda

-Becoming a donor

-Sponsoring a child

Hola, mi nombre es Morella. Soy venezolana-americana, jubilada con aproximadamente 27 anos viviendo en Los Estados Unidos. Vengo de una familia de 8 hermanas, tengo 3 hijos varones y 6 nietos.

Trabaje por 40 anos en corporaciones en el area de Recursos Humanos. Cuando me jubile, trabaje de voluntaria en diferentes organizaciones locales hasta que un día viaje a Africa y mi vida cambio para siempre. No pude olvidar lo que vivi allí, donde 2.5 millones de niños en Uganda, han perdido a uno o ambos padres. Muchos de ellos abusados, abandonados o maltratados en una pobreza extrema que nunca había visto en humildes seres humanos desesperados por ayuda.

Decidi abrir un Hogar de Transición para niños menores de 6 anos en Jinja-Uganda. Allí les ofrecemos un hogar seguro lleno de amor, atención medica, dieta calórica adecuada y estimulación temprana para asegurar un desarrollo de acuerdo a su edad.
