The Garden of St. Anne
Our playground is a gift of joy and healing, a space where children can play, laugh, and feel like children again.
The gift of joy
The Garden of St. Anne was built through the generosity of a donor who understood the healing power of play. Their one request was that it be named in honour of St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary. Since opening, it has become the heartbeat of daily life at Stars Uganda, a safe place filled with laughter, freedom, and friendship.
Why play changes lives
Healing through play
Play helps children recover from trauma, building confidence, trust, and resilience.
Growing together
Staff children and siblings often join, strengthening family bonds before reunification.
More than fun
Play supports early brain development, helping children learn social skills and rediscover joy.
Looking to the future
As we prepare to build our permanent home, we dream of creating an even larger, child-centred play space. The Garden of St. Anne will grow alongside our new home, ensuring every child has a place to run, climb, and laugh as they heal and grow.
