Stronger families, stronger communities
Our mission goes beyond caring for children inside our home. We strengthen families and communities with training, healthcare and resources so children can grow up safe and supported.
Family Rescue Program
Families are at the heart of every child’s future. Through our Family Rescue Program, parents and relatives receive vocational training and, in some cases, small microloans to build lasting income. Monthly workshops cover parenting, nutrition, hygiene, and the value of life, giving families the skills and confidence to care for their children long-term.
Health and Wellbeing
Every year, our health clinics provide medical check-ups and medicines for 1,000 people, thanks to medical supporters from abroad. These clinics improve health outcomes across the community, ensuring children and families get the care they need.
Clean water &
community development
Thanks to CADENAS International, we’ve installed water tanks and more than 100 family-sized filters in Kissima I and II, Soheto, Masese and Jinja, plus four larger community tanks that serve whole neighbourhoods. Safe water reduces illness, prevents child mortality, and gives families one less barrier to overcome in daily life.
Looking ahead
In 2023, the Ugandan government recognised this impact by granting Stars Uganda a 5-year licence to continue serving vulnerable families. Looking forward, we plan to expand health programs, increase access to microloans, and build deeper partnerships with churches and local leaders.
Together, we are creating communities where children can thrive. We want to increase the participation of local leaders and communities. Stars Uganda should be led by locals, caring for their own children.
